RULES and GUIDELINES:

  • The Kendall County Fair talent show is open to performers ages 7-21.

  • Talents may  include (but not limited to) singing, dancing, instrumental music, skits, spoken word  (poetry), magic, comedy, juggling, NO LIP-SYNCHING, and other acts upon approval  of event organizers.  

  • Every entrant must complete a Talent Show Participation Form, before July 27, 2026.  Students who are part of a group act should submit their Participation Form as one  entry. The maximum number of participants in an act is 8. Pre-designated slots are 15  minutes, with an option for 30 minute slots if requested. Acts must be no shorter than  2 minutes, and no more than their allotted slot.  

  • In all cases, decisions of the judges are final and will not be open to discussion.  

  • Talent show content needs to be “family friendly” and appropriate for a family-based  event. Absolutely no profanity or insensitive subject matter will be permitted. Acts are  responsible for their own props and costumes, and must be appropriate for all age  groups. Performance material will be reviewed by the Talent Show Committee.  

  • If your act requires recorded accompanying music, the music must be Provided to the  Talent Show Committee at the time of entry. Your electronic entry must be labeled  with your name and song name, and in the proper format (CD, mp3, or playable on  participant’s electronic device or phone). It is the participant’s responsibility to get the  accompanying music back after the show.  

  • Microphones, a PA system (run by our sound company), stands, a stage drum kit, and  a digital piano are available for use. All other equipment (guitars, bass, props, etc.)  must be provided by the performer(s), and notified/cleared on your registration form.  

  • The winner is NOT expected to, but may represent Kendall County Fair at the Illinois  Agricultural Fair Convention in Springfield, held in January 2027. Age of performer(s)  at our event will determine the entrant’s division.  

  • The Kendall County Fair and its constituents reserve the right to use photographs and  video/audio recordings from the event in media, advertising, and other purposes.
